This is WIP for a concept matte painting, I am trying out different techniques. I would like some help on this i am struggling on making the water look stormy and translucent in the right places. This is the first time i have used photo refernence and i would love to know how to blend it in.

The synopsis is a alien craft has crashed into the north sea and is in the process of being recovered, the craft is itself a organic lifeform, hence the turtle reference.

This is still in progress and is not as polished as i would like it to be.
